  1. Yay! I like contests! And I like your blog! And I like you! πŸ™‚

  2. I have learned so much from your posts about Ladies in Defiance. I especially enjoy those concerning our nation’s fight for independence. Molly “Mom” Rinker is one I don’t remember ever hearing about before. I would hope had I been in her place, I would of thought of a way to get the information to Gen. Washington, also.

I know there were probably many ladies who did what they could that only God knows their sacrifice for our country. Keep writing about these ladies. I love reading about them.

  3. What a cool blog! I love this, Heather. πŸ™‚ I’m really in awe of Kate Rockwell, in spite of what her reputation must have been like. I can’t imagine crossing the frontier by herself. She must have been a spitfire! Dressing as a man, then creating a theater production in Alaska? Oh my goodness, her spine must have been made of steel. Plus her story reminds me just a little of a John Wayne movie, “North to Alaska.” It’s one of my favorites.

    • Thanks, Angie. This blog is a labor of love for me as it is really story notes for possible books. It is beginning to catch on, though, and I hope women will be inspired buy the amazing things these women accomplished. Talk about True Grit, but yes, I OWN North to Alaska. These gals were some kind of tough. And you’re entered in the drawing! πŸ™‚

  4. Oops! I forgot to leave a comment about one of your ladies..LOL! Mollie Kathleen Gortner…I liked this woman! HA! She signed that mining paperwork, never mind that she was a woman! πŸ™‚ Yep, that’s my kinda gal!

  5. Michele Hendricks

Woohoo, I love amazon! πŸ™‚ And I cannot wait until you have another book there for me to purchase!! πŸ™‚ Thanks for being a blessing to others!

  6. Melissa Ahlersmeyer

I am a huge Dr. Quinn fan. I read your Ladies in Defiance post about Dr. Susan Anderson and really enjoyed learning about her. What a courageous woman, she definitely makes Dr. Quinn’s life look easy! Thanks for sharing these interesting women throughout history, they have played such major roles in the formation of our country! Such inspirational stories!

  7. looking forward to the next book – I LOVED the first one πŸ™‚

  8. I love reading your books. Can’t wait for the next one.

    • Aw, Partricia, that is really kind of you to say. Thank you so very much for venturing into Defiance with me. It still amazes and humbles me that God has given me this amazing gift: to share a story that moves people. It’s awesome and he is an awesome God. Merry Christmas!
