Who Wrote These Rules? Jimmy Buffett?
LET’S DISCUSS what “Essential” means during our time of quarantine. It’s all over the board but here are a few things you CAN’T do and YET CAN DO. Yeah, it’s just a little irritating. Liberty IS at stake here. Have no doubt.
Go fishing=NO…Get an abortion=YES
Buy seeds=NO…Play the Lottery=YES
Go to the park=NO…Go to the Liquor store=Yes
Go to Goodwill=NO…Go to Walmart=Yes
Go to church=No…Go to the Pot store=Yes

I LOOK AT THIS NONSENSE and wonder, “Who wrote these rules? Jimmy Buffett while he was strolling down his private beach with a margarita in one hand and a doobie in the other?”

PARDON MY VULGARITY, but the man did have a hit song entitled, “Why Don’t We Get Drunk and Screw?” Well, you sure can get drunk, get high, fool around, and then solve the problem with an abortion.
BUT DON’T TRY TO SHOP at the consignment store for children’s clothing or go to church. Did you know, in some states, congregants have been ticketed for sitting in their cars in the church parking lot!?
SURE SOUNDS AS IF SOMEONE is wasted away in Margaritaville. Our elected officials.

Yes some states treat all counties the same. We have had NO cases in our county. Some states, like Michigan make no sense. Doesn’t being outside, working in your own garden to grow your own food make it better? Fresh air and sunlight kill the virus! What about mental health? I agree! Somebody is after power! Or they are on something, themselves!
Honestly, I hope it’s the latter. Less dangerous than a power grab.
Thanks for this Heather! None of it is making sense except, like Paula said above, someone is vying for power. The Democ RATS have been nuts during this whole corona thing. I’m sick of the politics. They need to get back to DC and do their jobs. During the Spanish Flu Congress stayed in session, same for WWII. These power plays from home are ridiculous. Especially, the Pelosie debacle with her ice cream flaunt. WTH people! Get to work and fix this NOW before a storm of folks land on DC and do some damage. POTUS seems to be the only working form of government at the moment. Plus, the fine doctors that are trying to get this all sorted. God Bless America! I mean it, this has got to come to an end.
Rita, tell me how you really feel! LOL. But all joking aside, I think something insidious is going on here. I’m ready to meet you win D.C., girl!
Sorry for the outburst Heather. I think this topic and you’re excellent analysis just brought it all to a head for me. I was doing a pretty good job of not watching the news until I saw the people protesting to get their lives back. Some of those folks are just asking to be able to feed their families and lead their lives. Can you imagine having to ask to do that? Isn’t that why our ancestors came here? So they wouldn’t have to ask to have lives. It’s been a tough week.
On another note, I’m very much enjoying Hope in Defiance at the moment. At least I’m catching up on my TBR list, lol.
And yet another note, our beaches here in west central Florida are still closed. Hoping that changes soon.
Thank you for sharing! I’m grateful for you and your newsletter. God Bless You! Rita
Oh, my lands, Rita, you are awesome. Don’t ever apologize for being a lady in defiance. Never give in, never back down, never lose faith!
I agree 100%!!!! Fresh air and sunshine, soap and water, can kill this virus, but yet some sates are saying stay inside! In FL, we can go to hardware stores, WalMart, grocery stores, doctor’s appointments. If I lived beachside, I could walk to the beach, but since I don’t, I can’t because all public parking access has been closed. I can still go to other places to walk, though, like some nature trails. I do miss going to church, livestreaming just isn’t the same, though at least we can still do that!!
I think the beaches should be open with clear messages about social distancing. Stay apart and don’t touch handrails. But I guess that would be too easy.
They say the beaches are open, but parking is closed. One of my sister’s lives beachside, so she can walk to the beach and be on the beach. Volusia County has their beaches open, specify that you need to be 6′ apart, and can only use it “for exercise, such as walking, swimming, and jogging”. There aren’t too many of us natives that would be in the water, it’s not warm quite warm enough for us! The handrails are all wood!!! How long could the virus live? Some of this just doesn’t make sense. As a meme someone posted on FB said, soap and water can kill the virus, but they don’t have a cure??? Somethings wrong there!
So, I guess by keeping the parking lot closed, they’re assuming only local will use the beach, but I heard 40,000 were on the sand in Newport today!
