Hey, y’all. I’m really torn between these two ladies for voicing Hell-Bent on Blessings. Would you weigh-in down in the comments section? I’d sure appreciate your input!

Denise Nadeau

And Lily Bly

So, let your voice be heard! Power to the people for Audiobooks! And if you haven’t about my sassy heroine Harriet Pullen, I hope you’ll pick up a copy of Hell-Bent on Blessings today. It is based on a TRUE story! Heather_Blanton_04_Hell_Bent_On_Blessings_FINAL

  1. Heather of the two, I like Denise Nadeau better than Lily Bly. Are these the only two you had to choose from? I’d like to hear them in one of your action scenes.

    • No, I had several but these were the two I liked. I mean, this could be like writing if you let it–ALWAYS editing aka ALWAYS waiting on a better narrator. But I thought these two were more than passable (and affordable).

  2. Wow, what a tough choice! Both of these artists are very good. The First Lady ( Denise) has a western accent and speaks slower …. the second (Lily ) did a great voice change between characters which keeps an audiobook interesting. I understand your delima.
I think either would do a great job but I think I prefer the second recording by Lily

  3. I preferred the second reading by Lily Bly it was more interesting when she read it

  4. I liked how Denise spoke slower which gave her more emotion and subtle charges in her voice.
Lily had nice voice changes but was very monotone all the rest of the time.
I like Denise better. I would honestly have a hard time listening to Lily’s for a long time.

  5. I like Lily’s.. 🙂

  6. Hard decision on the narrators but I’m thinking maybe Lily Bly might be the better voice.

  7. Hi Heather. I like Denise Nadeau’s voice for this. She has the voice of what you (I) expect to hear in a book like this. Someone that has grit and determination. The other woman’s voice would be fine in a book about fine china and those kinds of people.
    All the best,
    Jeannette Shields

  8. Charlotte Somerville

I like Lily Bly the best. I liked her voice changes. It gives a flow to the story so that you can visualize the different characters speaking. Denise was ok, but I found it very monotone without any changes.

  9. Sandy Strange Walton

    I prefer Denise’s voice

    • Thanks, Sandy. Between here and facebook, I added them up and Lily won. I just awarded her the contract. It was a tough choice as far as I was concerned, but surprisingly, not very close for readers. Oh, well. We’ll see how the audiobook turns out.
